Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Arion, you must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle you're renting, and be able to provide a valid government-issued identity document (CCCD/CMND, passport, or VNeID). We may decline a booking or rental at our discretion, including where identity verification fails or a customer has a history of policy violations.

2. Bookings and identity verification

• A booking request is not confirmed until Arion verifies your identity documents and, where a deposit is required, confirms receipt of your deposit.
• You must provide accurate, complete information when booking. We may cancel a booking made with false or incomplete information.
• Vehicle availability, pricing, and included kilometers are as shown at the time of booking and may vary by vehicle and rental period.

3. Payments, deposits, and fees

• Rental fees and deposits are payable by bank transfer, using the QR code and payment details provided at booking. Payments are manually reconciled by our staff; please allow time for a transfer to be confirmed.
• Deposits are refundable after the vehicle is returned, subject to deduction of any outstanding fees, damage, fines, or other charges owed under these Terms.
• If your rental exceeds the included kilometer allowance for your vehicle, an extra-kilometer charge applies at the rate specified for that vehicle, calculated from the vehicle's GPS/telemetry data.
• You are responsible for all tolls, parking fees, traffic fines, and similar charges incurred during your rental period, whether identified at return or afterward.

4. Vehicle handover and return

At handover, Arion staff will inspect and photograph the vehicle and record its condition and odometer reading in a handover report; the same happens at return. By signing the handover or return report (including electronically), you confirm the recorded condition is accurate at that time. Report any pre-existing damage, defects, or discrepancies before accepting the vehicle at handover.

5. Using the vehicle

• You must operate the vehicle in compliance with all applicable traffic laws and only for lawful purposes. You may not use the vehicle to transport illegal goods, for racing, off-road use outside a paved public road, or to sublet or re-rent the vehicle to a third party.
• Only the customer named on the rental agreement (and any additional driver expressly approved by Arion) may drive the vehicle.
• Every Arion vehicle includes a GPS tracking device that reports location and telemetry for the duration of the rental — see our Privacy Policy for how this data is used. Tampering with, disabling, or removing the tracking device is a material breach of these Terms.
• You must not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or allow anyone else to drive the vehicle under the influence.

6. Damage, accidents, and loss

• You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle occurring during your rental period beyond normal wear and tear, up to the repair cost, subject to any insurance coverage included with your rental.
• In the event of an accident, breakdown, theft, or any incident involving the vehicle, you must notify Arion as soon as reasonably possible and, where appropriate, the police.
• If the vehicle is not returned at the agreed time and location without prior arrangement with Arion, we may treat this as unauthorized use and take steps to recover the vehicle, including using its location data.

7. Cancellations and changes

You may request to cancel or change a booking by contacting Arion. Refund eligibility depends on how far in advance the request is made and whether a deposit has already been paid; where a specific cancellation policy is shown for your booking, that policy applies.

8. The AI trip-planning assistant

• The trip-planning assistant is provided to help you plan an itinerary, and to search and stage (but not independently execute) flight, accommodation, and vehicle bookings. A booking is only confirmed once you take an explicit action to approve it — the assistant will never complete a real payment or booking on your behalf without that approval.
• Itineraries, distances, prices, and availability suggested by the assistant are estimates generated from third-party data and may not be fully accurate or currently available; always confirm details before relying on them.
• If you connect Google Calendar, you authorize Arion to create and update calendar events reflecting your locked itinerary. You can disconnect this at any time.

9. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Provide false identity, contact, or payment information.
• Attempt to circumvent identity verification, payment, or security controls of the Service.
• Use the Service, including the trip-planning assistant, to send unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent content, or to probe, scan, or attempt to disrupt our systems.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or use automated means to access the Service outside of the interfaces we provide.

10. Disclaimers

The Service, including the trip-planning assistant's suggestions, is provided "as is." Arion does not guarantee that vehicles will be available for every request, that route, price, or availability estimates will be accurate, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in this section limits any guarantee, warranty, or right that cannot be excluded under applicable Vietnamese law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arion's total liability arising from your use of the Service or a vehicle rental is limited to the amount you paid Arion for the rental giving rise to the claim. Arion is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost income or lost travel opportunities, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law or where damage results from Arion's gross negligence or willful misconduct.

12. Termination

Arion may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, or end an active rental early, if you materially breach these Terms — for example, providing false information, tampering with the tracking device, or using the vehicle unlawfully. You remain responsible for all fees and charges incurred up to the point of termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Vietnam, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
